What To See

Kedarnath
Just 90 Kms from Auli, lies the Holy city of Kedarnath. The temple at Kedarnath is believed to be over 1000 years old. In the valley of upper Mandakini, it has as it's backdrop, the speactacular mountain summits of Kedarnath and it's satellite peaks.







Uttar Pradesh, the state which combines the traditional with the modern, Uttar Pradesh has a lot to offer to tourists. From hill stations to pilgrimages, UP has it all. The most populous state in India, it is one of the most preffered tourist destinations. A rich cultural heritage and nature's bliss is what one finds in this beautiful state.

How To Reach
Auli is just 500-Kms away from Delhi. One can either fly down to the Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun) or take a train to Rishikesh before starting for Auli. The best way to reach Auli is by ropeway  from Joshimath. It will bring you to Auli in just 15 minutes while offering some breathtaking views of the Himalayas. 
 
Badrinath
Moving downwards from Kedarnath towards Auli, one reaches Badrinath-the Himalayan seat of Lord Vishnu. Inside the temple there is an idol of Lord Vishnu in "Padmasana", which was retrieved by Adi Shankaracharya from Narad Kund. 

Hemkund
Hemkund, or the "lake of ice" is a sacred spot of for Sikhs. This lake is just 30 Kms from Auli and offers some spectacular insights into nature's wonder.

Valley Of Flowers
About 14 Kms from Auli, lies the Valey of flowers. The wonders of this valley, obviously, are the blooming flowers. The first trees here flower in March and April. And all through the summer the valley keeps changing it's hues. The valley houses some very rare species of  plants. The blooming flowers are a real feast for the eyes.

White-Water Rafting
The adventure-seekers can find some really exhilarating sports here like river-rafting. The river Ganga offers some good rapids and interesting sights on the way. 

Skiing
Auli is surrounded by snow-covered peaks, hence skiing is an inevitable adventure sport here. There are various clubs that offer couses for beginners.

Other sporting activities that one can indulge in are fishing, camping, cycling on slopes.
